After a terrible car accident, Fumiko Takatsu began to develop face yoga exercises as a way to reduce scarring and pain. As she continued to follow her routine, she noticed that these exercises, which thoroughly work your facial muscles, had a side effect of reversing aging.

She learned the importance of a fixed mindset, one that is rooted in positivity, and she began to cultivate this new lifestyle.

In addition to having a positive attitude, Fumiko began to develop a series of poses and exercises to add to her anti-aging skincare routine. These exercises worked key facial muscles, such as the jaw, cheeks, and forehead. These are key areas of concern, and they are often the target of fine lines and wrinkles.

What Kind of Exercises Are Involved in Face Yoga?

One of the key movements in Fumiko’s face yoga is “the big ‘O’”. To do this, open your mouth as wide as you can and stretch your lips so that you look like you’re saying “oh”, and look upward! Hold this pose for ten seconds. This exercise promotes elasticity and muscle tone, which can help improve the overall appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

As you work your way through any of Fumiko’s exercises, her biggest tip is to keep the rest of your face relaxed.

Through keen observation, Fumiko has noticed that many people spend plenty of time with tense facial muscles. Frowns, furrowed brows, and squinting eyes are common features of the modern expression, and these activities actually hasten aging. To combat this, Fumiko suggests adopting more neutral facial poses. Instead of frowning and scowling, soften your face and allow the muscles to relax.

Face Yoga Helps Your Entire Body

In addition to its anti-aging properties, Fumiko’s face yoga method has another surprising benefit: it makes people feel great! As they practice these exercises, which often involve a certain amount of relaxation and meditation, practitioners begin to shift their fixed mindset. They report feeling happier, more relaxed, and more confident!

Fumiko has a few theories as to why this may be. One of her most prominent suggestions zeroes in on confidence. Her face yoga method begins to yield results quickly. As people see their fine lines smooth out, they feel younger and more confident. This, in turn, improves their overall mindset.

Another of Fumiki’s theories suggests that the relaxed mindset resulting from face yoga helps to calm the rest of the body.
